Breeching inlet

What is breeching inlet?

A firefighting equipment installed out the building or easily accessible location to the fire brigade vehicle to charge the water when necessary. The inlet used to pump the water to storage tank of sprinkler system or hydrant system or riser main to boost the pressure.

Commonly 4 way or 2 way breeching inlet being used in the industry depend on the fire department requirement of the city.

Access way shall be provided for accessibility to site for firefighting appliances To permit fire-fighting appliances to be deployed, the access way shall have a minimum width of 4.5m and height of 4.5 m. Access openings shall be provided along the external walls of buildings fronting the hard standing to provide access into the building for fire-fighting and rescue operations.
Access way shall be provided to within minimum visible distance of 18m of breeching inlet for buildings.
